About the Company
A young and vibrant company working within the further education sector. The newspaper and website were launched in 2011 and are fast becoming the destination of choice for the Further Education sector (lecturers, teachers, finance, suppliers etc etc). As a new product they are currently growing their customer base and both roles will be highly influential in shaping the client portfolio going forward.

The Roles
The positions involve selling primarily recruitment advertising to existing customers and sourcing new business leads. The roles involve a degree of business management as you will be responsible for all recruitment ads, setting yield and revenue targets and creating new advertising opportunities for clients. You will be selling direct to clients but will also be sourcing business opportunities through advertising and recruitment agencies.
You will develop a good understanding of the further education market, and will liaise closely with the editorial team.
Working in a small team you will work with the Ad Director who has a huge amount of media sales experience across national consumer newspapers and magazines in both classified and display.
The big thing with this role is the potential for candidates in the future. The owner of the publication very much leaves the sales to the sales people and the ideal is for the candidates to run this as their own business so candidates with good business acumen will be required.

Primary Role Objectives 

• To deliver sales revenue and yield targets by providing clients with relevant communication solutions across both products
  
• Grow customer base by managing / retaining existing customers and actively introducing new clients; developing strong relationships with all customers in all market sectors
  
• Duties will be to focus primarily on the classified section of the product on-line and in print, however there will be future opportunities to sell display solutions.

Skills Required

• Previous experience in selling media advertising ideally within the recruitment sector but not essential
• Confident, self-motivated and tenacious individuals, you must be eager to create new business and must not be afraid of cold calling new leads
• Strong verbal communication skills with good telephone manner and face-to-face presentation skills
• An ability to initiate and drive strategy
• Dynamic problem solver
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and possesses tenacity
• Computer literacy
• Attention to detail
• Numerate
