The role:

A leading agency is looking for a Head of Client Planning to lead all Brand Communications planning for their number one client in the UK. As a member of the client leadership team, you will be key to the running of an award-winning team who are responsible for some of the best and most exciting work in 2017. Not only that, but as part of the strategy for the client and the wider agency, your KPIs will include targets for delivering amazing innovation in media, creative and data. As a key member of the integrated Planning team (with the client and the other core agencies), you will work from the Creative agency 2 days per week.
Your team will consist of 10 bright planners and 4 data experts... These people consist of journey planners and insight managers. All core to their new planning team, who will live and breathe the client
As part of the leadership team, you are only a step away from the agency Executive team. This means you can and will influence and impact the company culture, participate in new business and help shape the overall business.

Key Responsibilities

Client Planning:
• Everyone in The team is perfectly positioned to deliver the best work of their careers in 2018. The Head of Client Planning should enable this for the team
• Reviewing processes, changing attitudes, encouraging proactivity
• Every plan should be interrogated and pushed harder than ever before
• Working side by side with the Head of Strategy, you will be unstoppable in client and agency meetings
• Working with all teams at the agency, you will unlock opportunities to do more work – be it research and insights, data evolution, production or innovation
Client Management:

• Evidence of placing the client’s needs at the heart of all delivery and building strong, meaningful relationships with client peers
• Keeping in touch with client needs, understanding satisfaction levels and their perception of us
• ‘Sell in’ annual plans / large briefs across all channels to senior clients
• Work seamlessly with Strategy and Specialist (eg digital) teams so as to ensure brilliant thinking is turned into brilliant implementation
• Challenge strategy and ideas to ensure they are remarkable and inspirational for our clients
• To recognise new areas of income on clients via a strong understanding of the services the agency offers

• Supervise and undertake additional projects beyond client responsibilities as requested
• Share responsibility with the rest of the management team for developing new revenue streams
• Provide timely and accurate billings projections and keep commercial management reports and forecasts updated
• Understanding specific client needs and working with the wider Group capabilities to create and develop tailor made services/solutions
• Act as an agency leader in new business by supporting new business and marketing in all areas including PR, case studies and award entries
Agency Leadership:
• Work with the rest of the agency management team forming a high performing Client Planning team that inspires development across all corners of the agency
• Engendering an agency culture and an agency belief that allows people to be provocative and creative – to go above and beyond to deliver a service for clients
• Instil a culture throughout the agency founded on our common and shared values
• Provide a support framework that allows people to enjoy the work they do, feel supported and recognised with continual communication
• Ensuring the agency output is grounded in our actual client needs but also delivers the needs and ambitions of the agency
People Management:
• Working as a collaborative positive team player across Havas, actively supporting each other and sharing learnings
• Ensuring the appraisal process is kept to for direct reports, taking ownership of your own skills development with full commitment and attendance to all training and development sessions
• Taking a pro-active view to talent management within your team, optimising the development opportunities for others

A strong communicator by nature and a trusted relationship manager, especially of senior clients. You will be a fantastic team player with a flexible and down to earth approach fostering strong collaborative relationships with clients and peers alike (locally and globally.)
• An inspirational leader with experience in leading and motivating diverse teams
• Someone who is never happier than with clients
• A resilient self-starter who has the skills to juggle multiple requirements
• Proven commercial acumen with significant experience and depth of knowledge across on and offline media; a passion for delivery and innovation; strong attention to detail and driven to be relentlessly focussed on identifying and delivering value
• Deep knowledge of on and off-line media owners, platforms, currencies, data and technologies
• Strategic, creative and flexible thinker with a vision of the evolution of the media landscape and how to derive maximum value for clients and for the business with this in mind
• An ambassador with a strong reputation with key media owners, plus experience in the dynamics of managing client relationships
