The Company
They are the definitive source of customer information for passengers. They handle an average of two and a half million enquiries every week day through their contact centre, mobile, apps, website and through information services supplied to 3rd parties. They offer journey planning, ticket sales, real time information, fares information and a range of rail-related information to rail customers.

The Role:
The Commercial Team is looking for an Online Sales Manager to ensure the site’s impressions continue to be monetised effectively. It is expected that there will be specific emphasis on the mobile and App sites.

Responsibilities:
The role will encompass both new business and account management. The majority of external relationships will be with digital media agencies. Given the regional targeting opportunities afforded by the website the Sales Manager will have the responsibility of maintaining business relationships with agencies country-wide.

In addition to managing select agency relationships there should exist an opportunity for the post holder to be the primary contact for some of the third party companies that make up the matrix of online advertising. These might include data management partners, analytics firms, ecommerce partners etc.

The number and type of external relationships will, to some degree, depend on the experience the successful candidate can bring to bear but it is intended that they will make the mobile and App properties a priority.

In addition to ensuring that their own paperwork and housekeeping practices are kept up to date they will also work closely with the Ad Operations Manager and the Finance Team to ensure that campaign reporting and invoicing is carried out accurately and promptly.

Knowledge skills and experience:

Background in media sales
Recent experience of online advertising sales
Experience in, or strong awareness of, mobile advertising
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the online advertising landscape, including the latest trends
Excellent written and presentation skills
