Job Summary

Senior Business Executives report directly into Business Managers and they are expected to analyse, create and enhance media plans across their account groups. Additionally they should provide new media ideas to clients outside of their brief. Working collaboratively with their team the role spans the process through from briefing to delivery. They will generate media ideas, identify target audiences and use relevant insight to interpret a media strategy into a media plan.

The Role

• To become an integral part of the business management team across all media disciplines
• Provide guidance to the junior members of your team when required
• Demonstrate an understanding of your clients business challenges and offer valuable insight
• Be a regular and enthusiastic contributor at client meetings
• Demonstrate a desire to contribute to wider agency initiatives
• Negotiate with media owners ensuring you deliver the very best value to your clients
• Prepare media results reviews, analyse performance and make recommendations
• Be the first point of contact for clients with general day to day inquiries
• Show and active interest in emerging media opportunities

Client Facing

• Take responsibility for interrogating client briefs to ensure a high quality response
• Understand your clients overall business dynamics
• Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of clients
• Ensure internal and external deadliness are met
• Develop client relationships over and above the simple day to day delivery

Media Owner & Supplier Facing

• Further strengthen media owner relationships across press, outdoor, door-drops, inserts etc.
• Demonstrate effective negotiation with media owners and suppliers
• Attend media supplier functions when invited
• Work with media owners to deliver incremental income

Company Facing

• Ensuring regular day to day work is delivered
• Nurture positive relationships with team members
• Share ideas with the wider team on a regular basis
• Be prepared to challenge a POV without being confrontational

Key Deliverables

• Respond to clients in a timely manner with regards to all enquiries
• Update client status reports
• Timesheets updated weekly
• Routinely read trade press and email bulletins and share any relevant information
• Run monthly competitor analysis
• Understand clients business challenges and provide valuable insight
• Interrogate briefs and deliver a quality response
• Negotiate effectively with media owners
• Deliver new media ideas to clients outside of the brief
• Ensure inter-department work is of appropriate quality and be prepared to challenge if not
• Update IPA CPD log
• Demonstrate the use of fact based analysis in client work
• Ensure all bookings are on DDS within 24 hours
• Manage process from briefing to plan delivery
• Attend all training sessions
• Contribute to wider agency initiatives
• Ensure all work delivered is accurate and of the standard expected by the agency
